1Introduction
By booking a session or using services offered through SCPC, you acknowledge these practice terms. They exist to support a clear and respectful therapeutic relationship from the beginning.
2Appointments and Scheduling
Sessions are booked in advance by agreement between the client and therapist. Each appointment time is reserved specifically for you, so we ask that you do your best to keep that time when possible.
3Cancellation and Rescheduling
We understand that schedules can change. To protect availability and keep the practice running fairly for all clients, the following cancellation policy applies:
- 24 hours' notice or more: no fee is charged.
- Within 24 hours' notice: 50% of the session fee is charged.
- Less than 4 hours' notice or a no-show: the full session fee is charged.
- Appointments can usually be rescheduled without an additional fee when at least 24 hours' notice is given and another time is available.
4Fees and Payments
Session fees are due at the time of service. SCPC accepts credit card, Visa Debit, Mastercard Debit, and e-transfer payments. Receipts are provided for your records and, where applicable, for insurance reimbursement.
5Confidentiality and Privacy
Protecting your privacy is a core part of care. Information shared in sessions stays confidential except where disclosure is required by law or professional obligation, including situations involving risk of harm, abuse or neglect, or court-ordered disclosure.
6Communication
Communication is generally managed through secure email or Jane. Reasonable steps are taken to protect privacy, but no form of electronic communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7Virtual Sessions
Online sessions are provided through secure, encrypted platforms. Clients are encouraged to join sessions from a quiet, private space to support confidentiality and focus.
8Emergencies and Crisis Support
SCPC does not provide emergency or crisis intervention services. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent support, call 911, contact a local crisis line, or go to the nearest emergency department.
9Faith Integration
SCPC offers faith-informed therapy for clients who want it. Spiritual integration is always optional and is approached collaboratively with respect for your values, comfort level, and background.
10Limitation of Services
Therapy and consulting services are intended to support emotional, psychological, relational, and spiritual well-being. They are not a substitute for medical advice, medical treatment, or emergency care, and clients are encouraged to work with their broader health care team as needed.
11Updates to These Terms
SCPC may revise these terms from time to time to reflect current practice, policy, or legal requirements. The most current version will be the version posted on the website.
